A line is made of many little dots but the speed of looking at immediatly build up a shape of line.

The line gives me a great fascination, it is not the line which has a begining or an eind, or a line which is connecting between  two points, or lines which are forming a shape or causing a shadow, it is about the space inbetween the lines.  Actually the visible lines gives us a glimpse of that transparent space.

I work primarily on a processed white, almost monochromatic surface, on a linen or cotton canvas. Not focusing on one point, but on several subtle, thin layers of drawn lines. (acrylic and watercolor) I call it the subtle layering of perception. Multiple subtle layers of perception on top of each other with light color elements not only form the starting point for the line(s) drawn with graphite/pencil, but they also form an intense perception of space. The material in itself and the manipulation of the canvas present a new challenge each time.

Simplicity and clarity are found in an extensive and lengthy painting process: The line grows out of this complex process in a contemplative atmosphere. Perhaps is the process of painting as complex as the effort of the viewer to open up to the contemplative content.
I consider my work as to be a reflection for this time with its rapidly changing images. My work call for slowing down, taking a step back and then looking forward.

The Line

My art has a quiet meditative character. The overall impression focuses on the linear rhythm of the line. This medative quality is reflected in the line and its rhythm. The line seems to form itself out of itself , gradually appearing in the pictorial space out of nowhere, appearing without a cause. The line on the image surface gradually appears and disappears likewise a thought or a projection that emerges and disappears, the line is like a metaphor that brings the inner projection into once own experience . In the same way it formulates the external and internal space of the viewer. You see the fleetingness of the line and at the same time this fleetingness corresponds to your own mental process of perception. In this way the line brings the transience of the inner projection into once own experience. The image surface is subtly composed of different painting structures and light color elements .Simplicity and clarity are found in an long-lasting drawing process, the line grows o
